Weekly Greeting: May 16

Good evening parish!
Morris Abel Beer once observed: “Who builds a church within their heart and takes it with them everywhere is holier far than those those whose church is but a one-day house of prayer.” It is a good reminder that the witness of God’s love is present wherever we go, if we but intend it so.
I cannot thank you enough for all the cards, prayers and well wishes which you have sent me as I have been recovering from gallbladder removal surgery. Bless you all! I am feeling considerably better. Our virtual, live-feed worship service will be broadcast at 10 am tomorrow on facebook live and then posted to our website, www.auburnmethodist.org. Church school will be offered via zoom. If you wish to participate and have not received the zoom invitation, please let me know, and I will forward your email information to Kay Little and Mary MacMahon. Youth Group will gather via zoom at 6 pm under the guidance of Cherie Poole and Kary Coffin. At 2 pm, I invite you to join us for our weekly coffee fellowship chat via zoom (invitation in a separate email).
If you wish to have prayer concerns included with the live-feed service, you may send them by response to this email or by submitting them during the service on facebook. I have moved the ‘Prayers of the People’ to the end of the service to catch as many of these as we can.

I am grateful to all of you who have sent in pledges, tithes, and offerings. They are deeply appreciated. Offerings may be sent to: UMC of Auburn, 439 Park Ave., Auburn, ME  04210.

I eagerly look forward to the day when we can gather for ‘in person’ worship once more. For now, please know that our paryers are with you.
God’s bless,
Pastor Steve Bascom
