Good Morning Parish,
This is such a beautiful time of year for walking outside, and my canine friends find much to explore on each excursion. I enjoy imagining the world from their point of view–and trying to see it through your eyes as well. May God’s grace bless your travels today! In the words of Margaret Bailey, “God, give me sympathy and sense and help me keep my courage high. God, give me calm and confidence–and, please–a twinkle in my eye!”
Tomorrow at worship, we will further explore the heart of God’s forgiveness and its expression in our lives. The drive-in & online services will be at 10 am (parking lot opens at 9:30 am), 88.3 FM (drive-in) and church facebook livestream with website posting, www.auburnmethodist.org. I have attached the worship guide as well as a copy of last Sunday’s message. Lay Member Joel Irish will also share a message of encouragement and opportunity.
On Sunday, September 27th (two weeks from now), we will offer our in-person 8:15 am service (without communion) in addition to the drive-in and online services at 10 am. Protocols for that service will be published in my next greeting. I will be attending an online continuing education event on Tuesday-Thursday, and the Handbell Choir will be renewing rehearsals.
Please keep Helen McKinley and her family in prayer. Her husband, Bruce (member of UMCA for 39 years, former church school teacher) passed away this week. A family graveside service will be held later this month, and a Celebration of Life service will be held at the church after some of the pandemic restrictions ease.
Just had some apple crisp from the Orchard (boy, was it good!)
God’s joy be with you,
Pastor Steve Bascom
