UMCA MISSION OPPORTUNITIES: As of Sunday, April 9th


NEXT MISSION – From April 16 to May 28, our mission focus will be: Volunteers in
Mission (VIM). For a second year, we will be joining with Cressey Road UMC, Gorham,
ME, to send a mission team to Machias to assist Mainers in need of help with home
projects. If you wish to serve on team, please speak with Beth Woodhead (207-740-5591) or
Joel Irish (207-224-0197). This year’s dates are: July 9-15.
CITY MISSION is closed for the month of April for deep cleaning and reset for renewed
programming. A Calvary UMC visionary retreat is scheduled for Saturday, April 22 nd , 9
am to 12 n, in the choir room at UMC of Auburn. It is an open gathering for all who have a
heart for ministry with the homeless.
MAPLE SYRUP MISSION – Thank you to all who participated in this year’s effort to
benefit Safe Voices, a ministry with those impacted by human trafficking.
CHILDREN’S BOOKS AND DICTIONARIES are needed for the High Street Food
Cupboard Book Distribution Project.
RECYCLABLES – Return deposit bottles and cans are collected in repository bins in the
UMCA Fellowship Hall for redemption. 100% of the proceeds support Mechuwana
camperships for UMCA and Calvary UMC children and youth. Thank you for your
donations!
HIGH STREET FOOD CUPBOARD – Donations are always welcome and may be
deposited in the grocery cart as you enter the sanctuary. Thank you for your generosity!
Egg cartons and banana boxes (no other box-type can substitute) are needed.
MISSIONS MILK JUG: donations deposited in the Missions Milk Jug will be given to
Trinity Jubilee Center for ministry with the homeless.
QUILTED LAP BLANKETS – blankets are created, donated and blessed before
distribution to those negotiating a difficult time in their life’s journey. If you know of
someone experiencing a difficult time, please take one and give it to them as a gift from the
parish.
PERSONAL CARE ITEMS – We collect toiletries throughout the year for the Women’s
Wisdom Center. Thank you for your contributions!


MAPLE SYRUP MISSION – Joel and Janet Irish have graciously agreed to offer the
annual Maple Syrup Mission Fundraiser with profits going to Safe Voices, a nonprofit
organized to offer deliverance and assistance to victims of human trafficking. There will be
a table set up this Sunday (after 10:30 am worship) for those who wish to place an order.
