Good morning all,
May the peace of God wrap you in grace and love this day! Yes, it is raining (surprise!), but New England is alive with approaching color and foliage wonder. The Rotary is hosting a Giant Yard Sale today (inside the Fellowship Hall) from 9 am to 2 pm, and Men’s Fellowship breakfast is scheduled for Saturday, October 14th, 7:30 am.
At 10:30 am worship tomorrow (10/8), we will celebrate United Women of Faith Sunday with presentation of Mission Service pins, World Thank Offering, and announcement of a UMCA-sponsored spiritual retreat for women of the Many Waters District in November (11/11) at Camp Mechuwana. Our theme for the services will center on Matthew 21 (Parable of the Vineyard and Jesus, Cornerstone of Faith).
The Godly Play workshop, originally scheduled for today, will be held in the spring. Our first Bean Supper of the fall season will be held on Saturday, October 21st, 5 pm. Please hold Thursday, November `16th, 6-8 pm in your calendar for our annual church conference. It is a cluster conference (UMC of Auburn, Calvary UMC of Lewiston, Minot UMC and Bolsters Mills UMC) and will be held at the Minot UMC. All members have vote.
Since 2019, Maine has recognized the contributions of the Wabanaki people through the renaming of Columbus Day to Indigenous Peoples’ Day. May we continue to honor their gifts as we enjoy this weekend!
God bless you!
