Weekly Greeting – August 23, 2024 – “Renew faith in Jesus, Updates to UMCA, Preparing for Fall, and more”

Good afternoon parish,
May the joy of this late August summer sunshine smile upon you! This Sunday, we will return to John, chapter 6 and Peter’s reaffirmation of faith in Jesus. We, too, are invited to renew faith in Jesus as we hear anew, words of eternal life! You may have noticed some changes at UMCA since I was last with you. The parking lot has new lighting, the side entrance has been landscaped, the front door system has been replaced, and the words “You Are Loved” have been mounted on the outside brickwork to remind our community of God’s continuing grace. Also this Sunday, our church school staff will be receiving Safer Sanctuaries training as we prepare for the start of fall programming.
This Sunday will complete focus upon Safe Voices as a recipient of missional contributions. We will welcome back VIM (Volunteers in Mission) team members who have been assisting with projects in Washington County.
Good to be back,
Pastor Steve Bascom
