Weekly Greeting – December 13, 2024 – The Third Sunday of Advent Approaches!

Greetings parish,

God’s joy be with you! As most of you probably heard, our church supper (originally scheduled for Saturday evening) was cancelled. However, on Saturday, December 21st, UMCA will host the annual Mitch Thomas & Friends Christmas Concert from 3 to 4:30 pm. There is no charge, but freewill donations will be divided between the High Street Food Cupboard and the Asylum Seekers Resettlement Fund.

At the 10:30 am service this Sunday, Alice and Jim Bradfield will unite with UMCA as new members. We will celebrate the third Sunday of Advent together, focusing on the second part of Luke’s description of the ministry of John the Baptist. On Sunday, December 22nd, the children will present their Christmas Pageant, and candlelight services on Christmas Eve will be 5 pm (Family Musical Service) and 9 pm (Lessons & Carols). I will bring a clip-board sign-up sheet on Sunday for volunteers as readers for the Lessons & Carols service. Or, if you wish to be a reader, feel free to let me know with a response to this email.
