January 31, 2025 – The Road Rising to Meet Us

Good morning parish,

Greetings! We’ve made it to Groundhog Day and the days are lengthening with sunlight for sure. I hope you can join us this Sunday at 10:30 am for a Celebration of UMCA’s vital merger with Calvary UMC of Lewiston. With celebrational anthems (Bell choir/Wesleyan Singers), holy communion, liturgy of Baptismal Waters, consecration of the Gethsemane Window, cupcakes, etc., we will pause to thank God for the ‘road rising to meet us’ as we continue to witness to God’s love and grace in the LA greater area.

Also, our men’s monthly fellowship breakfast is tomorrow (February 1) at 7:30 am (UMCA), and Celebration of Life services will be held at UMCA for Edie Jordan (11 am) and Martha Young (2 pm). I will be in New Hampshire on vacation following Sunday services through Saturday, February 8th, but can be reached for pastoral emergencies at c(339) 440-3746. If you haven’t yet ordered Superbowl sub sandwiches for Sunday, February 9th, members of the Youth Group will be taking orders at Coffee Fellowship on Sunday.

I hope you noticed the profile of our very own Len Lednum in the Sun Journal this week (celebrating his volunteer work with the town of Lisbon)! Way to go!
