Autumn joy! Earlier today, a new hybrid water heater was installed at the
church. Tomorrow, UMCA will host the New England Conference United Women of
Faith annual gathering (9 am to 3 pm). We are deeply grateful for UWF’s
missional generosity and service! Also, boy scout Landon Knowlton will earn
his eagle scout rank by restoring UMCA’s outdoor sanctuary and access path.
We are grateful for his leadership, hard work and generosity.
Sunday, we will recognize themes of Reformation of the Church,
particularly, the priesthood of all believers, for all who are disciples
form the ministry team in fellowship with other believers. Using Luke
18:9-14 (Jesus’ parable of the Pharisee and tax collector), we will reflect
on honesty with God (which is at the heart of true worship).
Also on Sunday, from 12 n to 2 pm, photographer Nathan from Portrait EFX of
Maine (our pictorial directory consultant) will be present at UMCA to
assist those who haven’t yet selected portraits for the directory. We do
ask that Schooner residents go first, so they may catch the return bus.
On Saturday, November 1st, 7:30 am, we will hold our monthly men’s
fellowship breakfast. All are welcome! That night is also when daylight
savings time ends, so be sure to change your clocks before worship on All
Saints’ Sunday!
