UMCA MISSION OPPORTUNITIES: As of Friday, October 14th:

HURRICANE IAN RELIEF – If you wish to give to UMCOR (United Methodist
Committee on Relief) for Hurricane Ian Relief, please designate your contribution:
UMCOR Advance #901670. One hundred per cent of your donation goes to emergency
relief, because administrative costs are covered by UMCOR Sunday donations.

CITY MISSION – Calvary UMC’s Lewiston Meals Program is our mission focus for
October 2022. An ‘in person’ hot meal is served weekly on Wednesday nights, and a ‘take-
out’ breakfast is served Sunday morning with additional options for meals later in the day.
A ‘Bridge’ food cupboard is in the works to provide staples for those who need them
between food cupboard distributions from other area agencies. Soon, we hope to open a
daytime, weekend ‘Warming Center’ for those who are homeless. Thank you for your
donations!

CHILDREN’S BOOKS are needed for the High Street Food Cupboard Book Distribution
Project. Also, dictionaries.

RECYCLABLES – Return deposit bottles and cans are collected in repository bins in the
UMCA Fellowship Hall for redemption. 100% of the proceeds support Mechuwana
camperships for children and youth. Thank you for your donations!

HIGH STREET FOOD CUPBOARD – Donations are always welcome and may be
deposited in the grocery cart to the right as you enter the sanctuary. Thank you for your
generosity!

MISSIONS MILK JUG: donations deposited in the Missions Milk Jug will be given to
Trinity Jubilee Center for ministry with the homeless.

QUILTED LAP BLANKETS – blankets are created, donated and blessed before
distribution to those negotiating a difficult time in their life’s journey.

PERSONAL CARE ITEMS – We collect toiletries throughout the year for the Women’s
Wisdom Center. Thank you for your contributions!
