UMCA MISSION OPPORTUNITIES: As of Sunday, February, 12

MISSION FOCUS FOR JANUARY/FEBRUARY: Youth-Focused Assistance in the L/A
area. Three nonprofits will benefit: New Beginnings, Store Next Door, and the Edward
Little High Food & Clothes Closet.


EARTHQUAKE IN TURKEY/SYRIA: There will be an offering envelope in the Sunday
Worship Guide for free-will donations to UMCOR (United Methodist Committee on Relief)
for the earthquake relief effort.


CITY MISSION: The Warming Center has evolved to accommodate needs of the L/A
homeless. In addition to Sunday through Tuesday (8 am to 4 pm), and the Wednesday
Supper program (5-6 pm), the Warming Center is open 12 midnight to 8 am, 7 nights a
week, through 3/31. Overnight staffing is cared for, but volunteers are needed for the day
program. Contact: Coordinator Nancy Craig if you are willing to help (207-353-7135;
nancycraigrn@yahoo.com). Winter gloves, coats and hats are also needed.


MAPLE SYRUP MISSION – Joel and Janet Irish have graciously agreed to offer the
annual Maple Syrup Mission Fundraiser with profits going to Safe Voices, a nonprofit
organized to offer deliverance and assistance to victims of human trafficking. There will be
a table set up this Sunday (after 10:30 am worship) for those who wish to place an order.


CHILDREN’S BOOKS AND DICTIONARIES are needed for the High Street Food
Cupboard Book Distribution Project.


RECYCLABLES – Return deposit bottles and cans are collected in repository bins in the
UMCA Fellowship Hall for redemption. 100% of the proceeds support Mechuwana
camperships for UMCA and Calvary UMC children and youth. Thank you for your
donations!


HIGH STREET FOOD CUPBOARD – Donations are always welcome and may be
deposited in the grocery cart as you enter the sanctuary. Thank you for your generosity!
MISSIONS MILK JUG: donations deposited in the Missions Milk Jug will be given to
Trinity Jubilee Center for ministry with the homeless.


QUILTED LAP BLANKETS – blankets are created, donated and blessed before
distribution to those negotiating a difficult time in their life’s journey. If you know of
someone experiencing a difficult time, please take one and give it to them as a gift from the
parish.

PERSONAL CARE ITEMS – We collect toiletries throughout the year for the Women’s
Wisdom Center. Thank you for your contributions!
