Weekly Greeting: March 17th, 2023

Happy St. Patrick’s Day parish!

May the grace of God bring joy to your heart this day!  Tomorrow night, of course (Saturday, March 18th) , is our public church supper, UMCA, 5 pm. Come early to enjoy the Park Avenue Pickers and choose your slice of homemade pie! I am deeply grateful to all who work so hard to offer this gift to our community. Bless you!

This Sunday, we will linger with the story of a blind man who receives sight through the healing influence of Jesus. As is generally the case, Jesus offers sight at more than one level, and the spiritual insight offered is as life-transforming as the physical sight restored. There are others in the account who think they see, but who actually lack the sight of faith Jesus invites. Let us never be so confident in how we ‘do’ church that we miss the new things God wants to accomplish through us.

This Sunday is also UMCOR (United Methodist Committee on Relief) Sunday. Contributions given with the special envelope care for the administrative work of our global relief agency. This makes it possible for 100% of every other appeal to go for the designated project for which it is intended. Thank you for your generous support!

Time for corned-beef and cabbage–

Much joy,
