January 24, 2025 – Jesus’ Hometown Ministry

Greetings parish,

God’s grace be with you! This Sunday, we will gather to reflect on the launching of Jesus’ ministry from his hometown and the fulfillment of prophecy. We, too, have an extraordinary mission from God to heal and renew the world in which we live. At the 10:30 am service, we will award four scholarships to youth, share a video of the work at UM Economic Ministry and light a candle in loving memory of Martha Young and Edie Johnson. Celebration of Life services will be held at UMCA on Saturday, February 1st (11 am – Edie Johnson and 2 pm – Martha Young).

I encourage you to stop by the church tomorrow (January 25, 9 am to 1 pm) to purchase Girl Scout cookies from the troop which meets at UMCA. Our Men’s Breakfast Fellowship will meet on Saturday, February 1st at 7:30 am. Next Sunday (February 2nd), we will officially celebrate the Vital Merger of UMCA with Calvary UMC which took effect as of 1/1/2025. At that service, we will also consecrate the ‘Gethsemane Stained-Glass Window’ in the entrance hall.
