There’s a part of the sun in the apple,
There’s a part of the moon in a rose;
There’s a part of the flaming Pleiades

Out of the vast comes nearness;
For the God whose love we sing

The universe of God’s creation holds wonders, vast and amazing, yet the
miracles to which we contribute hold the accessible wonder of God’s
compassion. This Sunday, we celebrate ‘Christians in the Marketplace.’ We
will hear from three UMCA members who offer gifts by volunteering with
agencies which may be unknown to the rest of us. Marj Patrick, Peter
Keniston and Pat Titus will share their work in our area.
One final day of picture-taking for the new pictorial directory will take
place at UMCA on Saturday, 9/27. If you haven’t yet had your photo taken, I
encourage you to sign up for an appointment after worship. Also, UMCA’s
Missions Committee is sponsoring a second-annual auction at the October
(10/18) supper. If you have crafts or services to contribute, please see
Pat Titus or Nancy Craig.
