It is good to be back after a much-needed, restful vacation! I am grateful to Rev. Russ Peppe and Richard Gross for leading worship services in my absence (with help from Kathy Gleason, Joel Irish, Len Lednum, Kary Coffin, and others). Tomorrow morning, we will celebrate the friendships and connections we find in one another through service to Jesus.
One of the best ways to experience community is through work and play! On September 14-16, we will be painting the lower part of the UMCA church facility, beginning at 8:30 am each day (lunch provided). Please join us for the hours you can offer on those days. There will be a sign-up opportunity following worship services tomorrow. It will be a rewarding experience for all who can help, and I will certainly be grateful. This will be a great way to help Calvary UMC and UMCA folk get to know one another better!
Also, on Rally Sunday, September 10th, 10:30 am service (and following), we will be honoring Rev. Russ Peppe as he is given ‘pastor emeritus status’ at UMCA. He will preach that Sunday, and following worship, we will honor him with luncheon, gratitude and tribute. Hope you can join us!
