Christmas Eve Greetings Parish,
Are you dreaming of a green Christmas? Probably not, but here we are. The raging waters of the Androscoggin are finding their rhythm once again, and the days have already begun to lengthen. Winter is here in calendar, if not snow. In the midst of this, we hear the invitation of the shepherds, “Come, let us go to Bethlehem to see this thing which the Lord has made known to us.”
Sunday, Christmas Eve will be a full day. In addition to our 8:30 and 10:30 am morning services (4th Sunday of Advent), the wider parish of UMCA and Calvary UMC will gather for Christmas Eve candlelight services. The 5:30 pm service will be family-friendly with lots of music and a cookie fellowship following. The 9 pm service will be Lessons and Carols. I welcome you to any or all!
The church office will be closed on Christmas and Tuesday, and New Year’s Day the following week. I will be on vacation 12/25-30, back for New Year’s Eve (Day) worship, and away for 1/1/24 and 1/2/24.
May God’s grace be with you as you celebrate, worship, travel, and enjoy a frothing hot chocolate with peppermint stick!
Merry Christmas!
Pastor Steve Bascom
