Weekly Greeting – November 1, 2024 – “All Saints Day, A Special Bell Choir Anthem, Communion and More!”

Greetings Parish,

Happy All Saints Day! As we enter a month of gratitude, we may begin by thanking God for all who have contributed to our faith development and character. Whether parent, grandparent, friend, Sunday School teacher, pastor, youth leader or another—we all can point to mentors who have guided us. This Sunday, we will offer thanksgiving specifically for those who have served among us and joined the ‘cloud of witnesses’ this past year. Our bell choir will offer an anthem called, “Becky’s Gone Home,” composed by Kim Visbaras for our beloved friend and bellringer Becky Skilling who passed away five years ago. We will also share the sacrament of communion, and enjoy the music of guest violinist , Elsa Kantz.

I encourage you to vote on Tuesday (if you haven’t already done so) and invite you to our Vital Merger Vote conferences scheduled for Wednesday, November 13th, 7 pm, UMCA (in person and zoom). Full members of each church will have vote, but the meeting is open to all. This is a significant event in the life of the parish and will shape our witness for years to come! If you need a ride to the conference, please let me know and we will do our best to provide transportation for you.

Tomorrow morning (Saturday, November 2nd), men of the parish will gather for a monthly fellowship breakfast. Hope you can join us!
